The UFR STAPS Dijon – Le Creusot of the University of Burgundy, in collaboration with the Psy-DREPI Laboratory, is pleased to invite you to the 4th International Conference on Social Identity in Sport (ICSIS #4), which will be held from Sunday, June 23 to Wednesday, June 25, 2024.
We are delighted to welcome the scientific community to this historic event, marking the first time the ICSIS is organized in France!
This event is primarily a moment of meetings bringing together a large majority of the research community in the field of social identity in sport, but also coaches and other actors from the sports world who are interested in the question of collective identity and social relationships in general.
The always rich exchanges in this biennial event allow us to delve into the understanding of the psychosociological mechanisms that underlie the parameters of sports actors' functioning, whether in terms of health & well-being or the pursuit of very high-level performance.
Organized as part of the TEAM SPORTS scientific program a few weeks before the 2024 Olympic Games in France, we will have the honor during these three days to discover the work of different scientific teams mobilizing the Social Identity Approach and the various associated theories to investigate a multitude of research questions. For example, work on leadership, emotions, health and well-being, supporters' behavior, mechanics related to the construction of club identities, their influences on group dynamics, athlete motivation, etc.
Always a source of inspiration for the future of our research and its applications in the sports world, these 3 days will be an opportunity for exchanges, presentations, and moments of informal discussions during convivial times, which will contribute to broadening our perspectives and strengthening ties within this international community.
We, therefore, invite you all to share your work, ideas, and experiences to enrich our understanding of the SOCIAL psychology of sport collectively.
